It's German, It's Filling , and It's Good!!

Welcome to the world of Kruatbruks. (kr-out-br-oo-ks). They are a family tradition dating back to i don't know when. I do know they were brought to this country by my biological great grandpa's family from germany. When he married my great grandma Della the tradition started. Ever since i was born we have been having this meal at least once a year. It is a bread stuffed with Hamburger, Cabbage and Onion. You dip it in sour cream and eat bite by bite. It is very filling and u usually eat with family and friends. It's a great social dish. So remember EAT outside the box and you may just find the new favorite!

Food For Thought!

Wow I didn't realize that this was going to be such a big hit. Thanks for all the responses! The episode of Andrew Zimmern that made me fall in love with the show was The episode when he went to Trinidad and Tobago. He went to this beach there called Maraccas Bay and he had the best thing ever It was called "Bake And Shark" It looked soo delicious! I also think that episode made me also realize that not all weird looking food was gross. So thats my Andrew Zimmern story for the day! Are you ready for todays food... here it goes!

The food for the day was a staple in my childhood and into today! I never went a week without it for a little while because when my dad was single he made it all the time. It's a food called Goulash (goo-la-sh). It is a noodle dish with hamburger, Tomatos, Veg-All (Corn, Peas, Carrots, and Potatos) and Noodles. It usually lasts for a week or more and is really good reheated. When I was living with my dad it was better then out Gushers, pop tart, cereal, McDonald, and Soda diet. I hope you enjoyed the food of the day. Until next time Remember think outside the box and try everything once. Who knows you may just find a new favorite.

Food

Well someone told me that I need to stop writing about food. Well i took that as start a new blog. so Welcome to My new blog all ye who enjoy food as much as i do. Each day i will write about a food that has left an impression on me in my life.

My love of food started at an early age with my "experiments" A hot dog warmed up with a piece of single slice cheese melted over it and catsup. My love has just grown stronger form that time forward. I love food! there is no other way to put it. I watch this show called "Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern" It's a fantastic show and he inspired me to really go outside the box with your food repertoire! I like trying new things all the time and i am never hesitant about that. Are you ready for my food of the day well here it goes.

Today's food is something that many of you have never tried before unless you have been to Belize. It's Called "Fry Jacks" They are like a really airy bread kind of like a flakey pastry you can eat it with dinner, breakfast, lunch, dessert, and everything in between. I loved it. It is usually a triangle shape and sometimes can be stuffed. Its a sweeter bread but not too sweet so that you can eat it with things like eggs and ice cream... but not together that was two seperate meals. Well I hope you all enjoy my future blogs. Remember think outside the box and try everything once. Who know you may just find a new favorite.
